Every time i want to cook i am stuck with the same recipes and same ingredients. I dont want to turn my blog into any food blog as they are so many other food blogs out there. I am going to compile a list of different food items that i tried and liked. So here is the list of different things one can make.

Idli batter

Another morning breakfast recipe.

Ingredients :

  • Split urad dal – 1 cup
  • flattened rice (poha/atukulu) – 1/2 cup
  • fenugreek seed or methi seeds – 1 tbsp
  • salt (non iodized) to taste
  • idli rawa/rice semolina – 2 cups

Dosa batter

One of my favorite for morning breakfast.

Ingredients :

  • Rice (sona masuri)- 1 cup
  • Urad dal or black gram (split) – 1/2 cup
  • chana dal or bengal gram or chickpea dal – 3 tbsp
  • toor dal – 3 tbsp
  • flattened rice (poha/atukulu) – 2 tbsp
  • fenugreek seed or methi seeds – 1 tbsp
  • salt to taste

Egg with tomato curry

Thanks to my roommate, i learnt something new with egg apart from the regular egg fried rice that i usually make. Sometimes we get to learn new and simple recipes from anyone.

Ingredients :

  • onion – 1 small
  • tomato – 2 small
  • green chillis – 3 (or as per your taste)
  • garlic – 1 clove
  • eggs – 2
  • turmeric – 1/4 spoon
  • garam masala – 1 spoon
  • oil – 1/4 cup
  • salt – as per taste

Creamy mushroom curry

Ingredients :

  • Mushroom (200g)
  • Onions – 2 big
  • tomato – (1 1/2  if roma tomatoes, else 1 big tomato)
  • green chillis – 2-3
  • ginger garlic paste – 1 spoon
  • cumin seeds – 1 tea spoon

Shrimp/prawn curry

Thanks to a great friend who gave me this recipe. It turned out to be my favorite and many of my friends even like it. I wished my husband would like sea-food. I would experiment a lot then.
