Here is a small compilation of various things that are needed for cleaning the home


  1. hydrogen peroxide
  2. baking soda
  3. Vegetable oil
  4. Cloth or paper towel
  5. shampoo
  6. white vinegar
  7. apple cider vinegar
  8. tooth brush
  9. salt
  10. lemon juice
  11. rubbing alcohol

For burnt dishes

  • Pour in generous amount of hydrogen peroxide and a nice pile of baking soda.
  • Swirled it around to get it to mix
  • Leave it alone for 2-6 hrs
  • Use the regular kitchen scrub to brush everything
  • Clean it with water

For kitchen hood

  • Take equal parts of oil and baking soda in a small bowl
  • mix them well
  • spread on the kitchen hood
  • rub off with paper towel or cloth

TIPS: Remember to cover the stove to avoid mess due to baking soda

For hair brushes

  • Remove all the hair that is tangled in the comb/brush
  • Wet the comb
  • Place a small dab of shampoo onto the bristles and rub carefully with a toothbrush
  • Clean the comb under water
  • Pour half a cup of vinegar in half cup of warm water. Soak the brushes and comb into it for half an hour
  • Brush gently with the toothbrush and wash under running water
  • Dry the brush on a clean cloth. Leave it to dry for some time so that all the water is absorbed
  • After drying clean it with a dry towel to remove any dust particles

For bathroom fixtures

  • Make a paste of baking soda and water
  • put it around the hard-water scale using an old toothbrush
  • wash gently with water

For laundry

  • add 1/4 of a scoop of baking soda along with your load of laundry to get brighter, stain-free and good smelling clothes

For cutting board

  • make a paste of baking soda, salt and lemon juice
  • spread it along the board
  • leave for some time
  • wash it under warm water

For make-up brushes

  • make a solution of water soap
  • dip the make-up brushes and wash them
  • now make a solution of wtaer and apple cider vinegar
  • dip the make-up brushes in it as an extra disinfecting step
  • Clean naturally – 1

Sanitize make-up brushes

  • soak the make-up brushes in rubbing alcohol for 30 mins
  • allow them to air dry


  • sprinkle baking soda on the bottom of the garbage can after emptying the garbage
  • this will neutralize the food odors

To remove rust stains

  • Cut a fresh lemon in half
  • Sprinkle on a little baking soda
  • scrub the spot

To clean microwave

  • 4 tablespoons of baking soda
  • 1 quart of water
  • microwave for 2 mins
  • wipe with a cloth or paper towel


  • Mix 1/4 cup of white vinegar in 1 cup of water
  • Heat it for 5 mins
  • Dip a cloth in this solution and wipe away the stains and splatters on the interior

Non-toxic bathroom cleaner

  • 2/3 cup baking soda
  • 1/2 cup liquid soap
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar
  • mix baking soda and liquid soap in a bowl
  • dilute with water and add vinegar
  • stir the mixture to dissolve any lumps that are formed
  • pour the liquid into a 16-ounce squirt bottle with closing cap
  • shake well before using
  • squirt on area to be cleaned
  • scrub with a nylon-backed sponge
  • rinse off with water

Refresh the fridge

  • use equal part of white vinegar and water to wash both the interior and exterior of the fridge

Fruit fly trap

  • put a thin layer of apple cider vinegar in a cup with a drop of dish soap
  • set it out on the counter and the fruit flies fly in and get stuck OR
  • Spray some rubbing alcohol on the fly, which will make them fall to the floor

For smelly room

  • Fill 3/4 of a shallow bowl with vinegar OR apple cider vinegar
  • place it where the odor is strongest

Non-toxic cleaner

  • Mix equal parts of water and apple cider vinegar to get your home free of dirt and bacteria
  • Surface cleaner – 2-wayscitrus

For cleaning mirror

  • Put some rubbing alcohol on a cotton cloth and clean the mirror with it to remove any sticky residue

All-purpose de-greaser

  • Pour some rubbing alcohol onto a cloth and wipe down greasy stove tops, vents and teapot
  • no need to rinse afterwards because the rubbing alcohol dries almost immediately

Electronic surface cleaner

  • dab some rubbing alcohol on cotton ball and use it to clean the surface of cell phone, keyboard and mouse to disinfect them

To prevent sweat stains

  • Wipe skin (armpits, inner elbows and knees) with rubbing alcohol dipped cotton ball before dressing
  • this will prevent from stain

To remove stains

  • mix 1 parts of rubbing alcohol with 2 parts of water
  • spray this on the effect area
  • wait for few minutes
  • laundry as usual

To clean scissors

  • dip a cloth in full-strength white vinegar
  • wipe the blades with the cloth
  • dry it off with a dish cloth

Unclog the drains

  • pour 1/2 cup of baking soda
  • followed by 1 cup vinegar into the drain
  • once the foaming subsides, flush with hop tap water
  • wait for five minutes
  • flush with cold water

Non-stick greasy pan

  • Boil 2 cups of vinegar for about 10 mins

Stainless steel greasy pan

  • boil 1 cup of vinegar with one cup of water for 10 mins

Deodorize lunch box

  • soak a slice of white bread in white vinegar
  • leave it overnight in the lunch box
  • the smell will be gone by morning

Air fresher – DIY

  • use 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 2 cups of water
  • After the foaming stops, mix well, and use in a spray bottle into the air

Clean the loofah

  • add equal parts of water and vinegar
  • soak the loofah for 24 hrs
  • then rinse with cold water

Coffee pot cleaner – 12
